Din Jin
The Song of Thirteen Tai-Chi Chuan Postures advises that the “…the head remains buoyant as if suspended from above.”
How is this accomplished?
The first step is to open up the body and to free the spinal column. We offer a systematic approach to this via our six warm up exercises. After a certain degree of flexibility and relaxation is achieved one must learn how to feel that one is between heaven and earth.
At this point, by gently balancing the downward force of gravity with the upward pull of the universe one can begin to realize the state of Din Jin.
Keep in mind that this process never truly ends…rather it is a continuous process of re-harmonizing through relaxation, alignment and the free circulation of our vital energy.
Please note: This principle is evidenced strongly in the world of Ballet and can also be associated with opening up the crown chakra in Indian yogic traditions.
